沒想到週一到辦公室就收到作者的回信
不過作者有一點無理頭就是了
居然問我說韓文跟中文有什麼不同
還寄了他被翻譯成韓文的作品給我看

it's not so easy for me to write in english ... everyone in Germany learn English in school, but for me it was 30 years ago.Thank you very much for your kindly e-mail. Three hours before your mail arrived, I get another e-mail from Beky from Taiwan. I guess you know her;-)By the way, the name of one of your boys is Mathew - it's the english form of my first name Matthias (Mathew, Matthew, Mathias, Matthias). Are you (or your husband) originally from USA or England?No, I didn't wrote 45 books for children. From Nulli & Priesemut (how they are named in Taiwan?) I wrote 14 little books (only five of them you know already), one ABC-book, one big book where the kids have to unravel a few mysteries with Nulli & Priesemut, and four books for the youngest (age 18 month up).I'm taken a picture of the books published in South Korea. Are these books the ones you know?Well, I did not understand that you can read the books published in South Korea. Are the letters (or signs?) in China and Korea the same? I hope you can give me an explanation. Maybe the publisher in Taiwan has forgotten to ask for printing-permission ;-) Take a look at the picture and tell me.

對了！說到盜版
真的還是很多人跟我沒有共識
這一點真的蠻令我難過的

Dear Matthias,
I am the managing editor of Abula Press for Teachers & Parents, Inc
which
has published your five great books into Complex Chinese. What does
“Abula”
means? Actually, it means the sounds of kids. When babies learn to
speak,
they will try to pronounce any kind of sound, and we take the sound of
“Abula” to symbolize the sounds of kids. We do hope adults in the
world
will learn to listen to kids, in others words to understand kids and
their
worlds.
Actually, the Complex Chinese(used in Taiwan) is different from the
Simplified Chinese(used in China), though they have a little
similar——this
is a very long history, so I don’t mention it here. And, we just have
the
five titles only, so you don’t have to worry if we have published any
book
from you without any permission (Alison had told me that she has
mentioned
45 titles of your books because of the Amazon website——they have
listed
more
than 30 titles of your books, so this is a misunderstanding). I
believe we
will do our best to treat your books well and I think you can trust us!
We are very glad to introduce your books to our readers in Taiwan. We
chose
the five books because we hope readers could learn to appreciate the
difference and respect each other. I think your books are really good
at
this. We are also very glad to let you know some people here like your
books very much! I know some of them have written email to you and
they are
very happy to get your response very soon. We will send the Complex
Chinese
edition of your five books (which were finished in February) to Lappan
in
June, I think you will get them very soon (I will attah the covers with
this
email for you, so you will take a look first).
I know Beky has mentioned that “bubble milk tea”, so I try to attach
a
picture of it. It is kind of great drink in Taiwan, maybe someday you
will
have the chance to taste it!

Dear Amy,
thank you very much for your friendly mail. Sorry for thinking you have
no
permission - let me explain: my publisher LAPPAN didn't tell me that
you get
the printing-rights for Taiwan the last year. And because you haven't
send
LAPPAN voucher copies until now, nobody told me something. As Beky and
Alison wrote to me, I thought they're speaking about the books from
South
Korea (you have to know, for Europeans the signs/letters from China,
Japan
and Korea looks all the same ...) You see it was a simple
misunderstanding.
Are Beky and Alison working for Abula? You know her both.
Before you send me a pic of bubble tea or bubble milk tea, I found the
explanation already here:

In Germany we didn't now this ... drink (or tea) but it looks very
interesting for me with all this little black (manioc?) balls inside.
If
Priesemut would know it, maybe he would hooked on this :-)
So if the books are translated in Complex Chinese you can't sell them
in
China? If I understand you the right way, Complex- and Simplified
Chinese
are two different languages ...
I hope you sell lots of this beautiful, gorgeous, fantastic, marvelous,
wunderful, terrific little books (in Germany we say: "Eigenlob stinkt!"

beautiful, gorge ... pardon ... books too!
